Camp Pendleton gate incident prompted alarm

Base officials say weekend scare was investigated; they concluded no threat exists

Camp Pendleton and national security authorities scrambled last weekend after two vehicles with Middle Eastern occupants drove onto the base shortly after a Marine reported overhearing terrorist threats from a group of men at a nearby gas station.
