Marines’ role in surfing history highlighted

California Surf Museum features Camp Pendleton memorabilia

CAMP PENDLETON — An exhibit at the California Surf Museum in Oceanside highlights Camp Pendleton’s role in local surfing history. The show, “San Onofre, Birthplace of Southern California Beach Culture,” looks at the history and significance of San Onofre, a surfing hot spot at the northern end of the base.
