Camp Leatherneck, headquarters for the Marine command in southwestern Afghanistan, is about as bleak as ever on Thanksgiving Day. Concrete barriers under a leaden sky. Tents and metal shipping containers dusted with fine sand. And a sound track of generators and military trucks droning half a world away from home.
