Marine hero's name forever a part of Columbus Park School

US Marine Sgt. William Soutra Jr. ships out later this month for his fourth tour of duty overseas. He heads back to Afghanistan, where on July 11, 2010 he unwittingly assumed the role of hero when his staff sergeant was mortally wounded, leading his platoon to safety out of the "kill zone." He returns a recipient of the Navy Cross for those actions, a distinction bestowed upon him in December. He also returns with his name forever etched into the history of the elementary school where he grew up.
