Groton Marine William Woitowicz Killed in Afganistan

Flags throughout Groton were lowered to half-staff this afternoon and evening in honor of Marine Corporal William Woitowicz, killed in a “combat operation” on June 7 in Badghis, a province in Afghanistan. The 2007 graduate of Groton-Dunstable Regional High School entered the Marines when he graduated, and was assigned to the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion, based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.
