31st MEU departs Okinawa headed to Australia

WHITE BEACH, OKINAWA, Japan — More than 1,800 Marines and Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked the USS Essex (LHD 2), and USS Germantown (LSD 42), June 28, in preparation for exercise Talisman Sabre 2011 to be held in Australia.
